The short version
Nothing on this website that tracks you loads until you choose Accept all, or turn a choice on in Settings. Decline is one click, the same as Accept. If you decline, the only things kept are your choice itself and a note of how you found the site, which stays in your browser.
What you type in a form (your name, email, phone, address or message) is never sent to Google or Meta. When a form goes through, the only thing they can learn, and only if you allowed them, is which kind of form it was, such as the contact form.
What I use and why
- Analytics. Google Analytics 4 counts visits and pages so I can see which guides and tools help people. I don't send it a user ID, your name or any contact detail.
- Your pages, after a form. If you send me a form and you allow Analytics, the pages you view here after that are added to your record with me, so I can help you better. Only the page address is kept, without anything after a question mark, and never what you type. This stays with me: it isn't sent to Google or Meta. It uses the
la_leadandla_knowncookies below. - Advertising and retargeting. The Meta Pixel and Google's advertising features let me show my ads on Facebook, Instagram and Google to people who visited this site, and count how many visits came from an ad. My home ads follow the housing ad rules Meta and Google set. I don't use advanced matching, so no email or phone number is shared with them.
If you allow Analytics but not Advertising, Google's ad features and ad personalization stay off. Google and Meta handle what they collect under their own privacy policies.
Every cookie and browser record
The company that hosts this website also keeps technical records, such as your IP address and the pages requested, so the site runs securely. Those aren't cookies, and they aren't used for advertising.
When you allow them, Google and Meta may also read or set cookies on their own domains, for example if you're signed in to Facebook or Google. Those cookies belong to them, follow their own privacy policies and are managed in your account with them or in your browser. Nothing on this site lets them do that before you say yes.
How to change your choice
You can change your mind at any time. Use the button below, or the Cookie settings link at the bottom of every page. If you turn something off, its cookies on this site are deleted and it stops sending anything. Turning Analytics off also deletes la_lead and la_known, and no more pages are added to your record. Pages added before that stay in your record unless you ask me to delete them.
Your choice lasts 6 months, and I'll ask again sooner if this page changes what's collected. You can also delete cookies in your browser settings, which resets your choice.
Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track
If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, I treat it as a no to advertising. Meta Pixel and Google's ad features stay off even if you choose Accept all. You can still choose Analytics.
Do Not Track has no agreed standard, so the site doesn't act on it. Nothing that tracks you loads without your yes either way.
More choices
- Google offers a browser add-on that stops Google Analytics on every site.
- You can review ad settings in your Google account and your Meta account.
See the Privacy Policy for everything else about your information.
